SOMA:
the nectar of immortality, amrit; the temple of the body; a subtle and physical essence that maintains immunity, strength, beauty, and vitality; the nourishment that feeds our cells and consciousness; another name for Chandra, the Moon, the cupholder of bliss that feeds the gods; a mysterious, sacred plant drink said to be the elixir of life
“Life should unfold as a celebration allowing the Soma ‘nectar of grace’ to flow through us at all times. Devotion not only satiates the heart, but transforms our mind and senses into vehicles of spiritual vitality and delight.”
~ Yogini Shambhavi

Given the spiritual name “Viveka,” Sanskrit for “discernment of the real from the unreal” or “wisdom,” by her teacher and mentor Alakananda Ma, Heather uses this discernment to guide her clients towards their fullest expression of health and happiness.
Having quite literally sat at the feet of her teachers (on the floor, with or without cushions, largely in sukhasana) Alakananda Ma and Dr. Bharat Vaidya, Heather practiced in an ashram for 4 years to complete her classic Ayurveda training, is a Core Synchronism practitioner trained by Alyssa Gillespie of the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics, and utilizes core Nordic Shamanism principles, journeying and studying with Kai Uwe Faust.
A few of her favorite things: the sound of birds throughout the day (and in the land of midnight sun, throughout the night), babbling brooks, hiking in the mountains and desert, beautiful stones, the expanse of sky and stars, dreams, spending time with her children (21 and 17), her husband (a redhead), and her ancestors, a good book, gathering in sacred circle, seasonal festivals, the music of Elephant Revival, Tina Malia, Snatam Kaur, Myrkur, Songleikr, and Heilung (which her son calls, “mom’s cultural jams”), whole foods deliciously prepared, and a gorgeous glass of biodynamic wine.
